Abstract
This research introduces a more effective learning method by categorizing business school students’ perception of the transition from offline face-to-face learning to hybrid learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Q methodology was adopted to achieve the purpose of this study. Q sample consisted of 33 statements. Sample P consisted of 18 students who experienced hybrid learning, and data were collected and analyzed through the online Q Methodology software. A total of five different perception types were derived: “Type 1” recognized hybrid learning as the future learning method in which students can choose their own learning participation. “Type 2” recognized it as the second-best solution in the non-face-to-face situation and preferred online learning. “Type 3” recognized it as the second-best in the non-face-to-face situation but preferred offline learning. “Type 4” was a dissatisfied type that wanted to go back to offline learning. “Type 5” sought efficiency and preferred the ability to participate comfortably without locational constraints. This study provides a meaningful analysis of the characteristics of the subjective perception of hybrid learning that can be suggested as a new learning method for business schools after the post-COVID-19 period. This research expects to provide a basis for establishing an effective hybrid learning method and a systematic education-learning strategy to further enhance the effectiveness of management education.
