Abstract
Banking is no exception that desperately needs advanced management and innovation under fast-moving technological and market environment. It became necessary for banks to implement new technologies and management thoughts in traditional banking business to meet the new challenges. As the Internet becomes ubiquitous, banking industry evolves swiftly toward electronic banking. Therefore, banks should be able to understand this phenomenon and adjust their business strategies and processes so that they could survive and gain competitive advantages. It becomes an essential element for banks to apply Internet in their business to improve competitiveness.This case describes how Woori Bank adjusted to changing environment and improve their competitive power through e-Business. Woori Bank strategically applied the concept and technologies of e-Business to their traditional business so that they could create new businesses and improve the overall performance. Woori Bank's case has been carefully analyzed and implications are given.
