Abstract
If we look at the history of Korea's export volume change, the basis of the Korean economy, which was able to achieve rapid growth, was its export-driven growth strategy. However, these export-driven growth models have faced various problems in line with changes in the global trade environment. Uncertainties in the global market have increased dramatically following a number of trade issues including the recent U.S.-China trade dispute, the global economic slowdown, the spread of the neo-protectionist trade stance, and the COVID-19 situation that has become a global pandemic. In particular, small and medium-sized businesses and venture companies have greater difficulties in revitalizing the business ecosystem and expanding their boundaries, compared to major companies. POSCO International, which has internalized the DNA of challenge and win-win since its foundation, has a mutual win-win business model, through cooperation with small and mediumsized companies. Also, the company has opened a “Global Marketing Collaboration Portal” to create symbiotic value for corporate citizenship declared as a group-level management philosophy in 2018, supporting small and medium-sized companies for exports and ultimately spanning the global boundaries as boundary spanner. In this study, the content of these boundary extensions and their achievements were described. It also discussed the importance of export activities of small and medium-sized Korean companies to the national economy, identified export obstacles currently held by small and medium-sized Korean companies, and described efforts to establish and promote POSCO International's global marketing collaboration portal. Finally, POSCO International's future assignments for contributing to revitalizing the ecosystem of small and medium-sized venture companies have been presented.
