Abstract
The introduction of the fourth industrial revolution, digital transformation, and the emergence of artificial intelligence(AI) is rapidly changing our society. Many experts on these topics expect that these changes will entirely transform the way in which we are doing business. These predictions include not only positive aspects such as technical developments, improvements in productivity, and emergence of new business opportunities but also negative aspects such as the replacement of human labor with AI or machine and human alienation. This manuscript aims to suggest human resource management strategies and systems to effectively deal with the adoption of AI in business organizations. To do this, we use the literature of organizational ambidexterity (exploitation and exploration) and two possible types of human-AI relationship (complementary versus conflictory) to suggest four possible AI adoption strategies for organizations to use. After that, we match the human resource management strategies with the AI adoption strategies, suggesting four related propositions. We also describe distinctive HR(human resources) systems for the suggested HR strategies in terms of human resource management practices and the extent to which human cooperate with AI. Finally, suggestions for effective implementation of HR digital transformation are given.
