This study presents a framework for classifying CSV based on two perspectives – the source of value creation and the result of the value creation – derived from literal review about Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) and CSV. On the basis of the framework, this study divided CSV into four types – Market-Economic type, Technology-Economic type, Market-Social type, and Technology-Social type. In addition to this classification of CSV, this study was conducted as a multiple-case study which analyzes the cases regarding the four types of CSV. Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom, Yuhan-Kimberly, and CJ CheilJedang were selected as the four cases. As a result of the analysis, in consideration of the characteristics of each type of CSV, overall four propositions for effective practice of CSV were derived and they were confirmed that there were differences in governance among the four types of CSV. In addition, each CSV type was analyzed synthetically from the perspective of business ecosystem. Based on the results of this analysis, five implementation strategies to practice successful CSV are presented in this study.
