Abstract
The Samsung Group, started by the late B.C. Lee, has undergone lots of changes on the way of leadership succession to K.H. Lee, a son of B.C. Lee. The object of the current study is to address the change processes of the Group in terms of organizational change theory. To fulfil the research object, this study assumed three-stage transition model: Convergence, friction and reorientation period. This model was a revision of Tushman and Romanelli(1985)'s evolution theory of organizational change. How these three periods unfolded, what was the nature of friction period between convergence and reorientation, and how managerial traits impacted the Group's characteristics during transition periods were discussed.
