Abstract
At the current pace of fast-changing business environment and technological development, financial industry has undergone a structural change caused by introduction of fintech business model. In continuous convergence of financial services and disruptive technology, financial industry has become more competitive due to increasing number of market players ranged from traditional financial institutions and fintech startups to tech giants, the large-scale IT enterprises. With the rise of tech giants, fintech business enhanced customer value through not only aggregating financial services but also connecting various kinds of life related sectors within platform ecosystem. This study analyzed fintech business strategy and key success factors of tech giants, particularly SNS enterprises in perspective of platform life stages. This study may provide useful practical implications for the managers who are responsible for strategic initiatives and decision making related to fintech business as a platform.
