Abstract
This case study aims to analyze Blackyak’s business competitive edge and its business environment. In so doing, our purpose is to look deeply in the upcoming challenges that Blackyak can face. The first discussion question raises issue about Blackyak’s current and possible competitors. In doing so, we are going to think more about possible actions that Blackyak can take in order to compete with their rising competitors. Second, this case raises issue about business fads in the outdoor market. Outdoor brands such as North Face, Kolon, and K2 became trendier in these days. Blackyak’s company identity, however, relies more on “Extreme,” which represents professionalism. We would like to make the readers discuss about the current outdoor industry trend and suggest a possible business strategy to the firm. The third contrverial issue is about the CSR activities of Blackyak. We would like to make the readers discuss about the CSR investment of Blackyay and in so doing we would like to make the readers think whether these activities can cause negative effect to Blackyak. Furthermore, we would like to talk whether Blackyak’s CSR investment is reasonable in terms of their sales and group size.
