Abstract
This case study examines how SK Networks, a Korean company, has been dealing with culture integration within a global organization since it acquired Shantou PS in China in 2007. Findings of the study show that the management of SK Networks-Shantou PS succeeded in building trust and getting supports from the factory’s community by its empowerment program and the existing SKMS (SK Management System). The management empowered the local staff to achieve localization and utilize SKMS as a tool for communicating among the employees and mobilizing the community spirit which had existed within the company. This study highlights how the global leadership should be exercised in global organization environments, especially,in China; the leaders established a foundation of trust with local staffs, by inducing the community’s energy and potentials through open communication, respect and personal commitment to be seen as their true partner.
